A Poem

The prompt from MamaKat's: Write a poem for your valentine.

Husband
strong, capable
cherishing, loving, holding
consort, companion, concomitant, collaborator
cherishing, loving, holding
reliable, trustworthy
Wife

(I've only written poetry when it was an assignment for school, but I ran across some diamante poetry the other day and thought it might be fun to try out. Diamante poetry takes two subjects and gives them a one-word line (the first and last lines of the poem) and then splits the poem between the two subjects. The 2nd and 6th lines describe first and second subjects, respectively. The 3rd and 5th lines are gerunds that relate to the two subjects and the middle line is made up of synonyms and is split between the two subjects. I color coded it to make it more visual.)
